The Driving Test
You will need to book your driving test, having first gained the agreement of your Driving Instructor that you are ready to take the test and identified the dates that your Driving Instructor is available for your test to be conducted. Any Driving Instructor has the right to withhold the use of their vehicle for test purposes if they feel that you are not ready to take the test and have booked a test against their advice.
You can book your Practical Driving Test online
On the day of your Practical Driving Test your Driving Instructor will pick you up 1 hour ahead of your test appointment and you will have a lesson on the way to the Test Centre.
You must take with you on the day of your driving test:
Your Theory Test Certificate
Both parts of your Photo ID Provisional Licence
If you wish your Driving Instructor to do so, he can sit in the back of the car during your test. Your Driving Instructor will also be there with you at the end of the test when the Examiner gives you the result of your test and the feedback from the Examiner about your test.
Whatever the result of your test, your Driving Instructor will drive you home, or to college or work for example.
When you pass your test you will receive information about exchanging your Provisional Licence for a qualified driver licence.
