Advanced Driver Training

You may wish to undertake Advanced Driver tuition for any number of reasons, whether that is to gain a qualification or simply to have the satisfaction of improving your driving skills.

There are a number of Advanced Driving Tests available in the UK and we are able to provide appropriate Advanced Driver training guidance for them all. We actively promote the DIAmond Advanced Motorist Test, which demands the same high standards as those set for qualifying Driving Instructors. We also train Defensive Driver techniques that are particularly useful for women in dealing with aggressive driving styles prevalent on today’s roads.

The Test is administered by the Driving Instructors Association (DIA) and endorsed by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA). The Test lasts for about 90 minutes during which period you will be required to demonstrate a standard of advanced driving ability in the following areas:

• • Manoeuvres - Turn in the road, left and right reverse into limited openings, reverse parking and controlled stop
• • Motorway driving
• • Driving on urban, suburban and rural roads

During the course of the test you will be expected to show expert use of the vehicle controls, driving in a brisk, business-like manner and show a sound practical knowledge of the Highway Code and the principles of driving as detailed in the DSA publication Driving - The Essential Skills.

The amount of training required will be assessed on an individual basis. Training is undertaken in 2 hour block sessions.
